Shakespeare & Company continues its 2021 season with hang. Directed by Regge Life, the production will run September 10 through October 3.

In the dark and poetic comedy written by debbie tucker green, three individuals face off in a stark government room where justice hangs in the balance. A devastating decision with lingering consequences forms the underpinning of this unique and riveting story. A runaway hit at the Royal Court in London makes its regional debut here.

Regge Life directed the 2019 multiple Berkie Award-winning production of TopDog/Underdog, the widely-acclaimed Morning After Grace in 2018, God of Carnage in 2017, and Kaufman’s Barbershop in 2013. To keep theatre going at Shakespeare & Company during the pandemic, he directed Zoom productions of Autumn and Kernel of Sanity. He has directed across the country with credits such as Cross That River at 59E59 Theaters, I Just Stopped by to See the Man for Milwaukee Rep, Yellowman and Gem of the Ocean for Pittsburgh Public Theater, Ghosts for the Pearl Theater, Piano Lesson for Virginia Stage Company, A Walk in the Woods at Capital Rep, Rebel Armies Deep into Chad, Laurence Fishburne’s Riff Raff and Arthur Miller’s The American Clock for the Juilliard School, Living in the Wind and Do Lord Remember Me at The American Place Theatre. He is the Senior Distinguished Director in Residence at Emerson College.

This production of hang features Ken Cheeseman (Two), Cloteal L. Horne (Three), and Kristin Wold
 (One), with Miriam Hyfler as Stage Manager and Nathaniel Bokaer and Dennis Ebert, Jr. as Assistant Stage Managers.

hang will be performed at the Tina Packer Playhouse. Masks are required of all attendees while indoors.
