Shakespeare & Company’s Public Speaking Workshop with Tina Packer

October 4 to 6, 2019 or December 13 to 15, 2019

(Lenox, MA) – Shakespeare & Company is currently accepting applications for upcoming Public Speaking Workshops with Founding Artistic Director Tina Packer and co-teacher Samuel “Mooly” Dinnar. The workshops will take place at Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, Massachusetts, running October 4 – 6 and December 13 – 15.

“The Public Speaking Workshop is designed for people of any age and profession who want to speak out on something that is important to them,” said Packer, who co-created the workshop in Summer 2017. “It includes some voice work on how to receive energy from your audience and uses inspiration from leaders and citizens who have changed the world by the words they have spoken.”

The Public Speaking Workshop was designed and launched at Shakespeare & Company by Packer and Dinnar with the goal of improving participants’ skills and confidence in connecting to an audience, delivering their message, and moving their listeners. The workshop includes knowledge gained from Shakespeare & Company’s experience of embodying the text of a great speech, and improving the alignment of the speaker’s personal voice to who they are as a person.

No experience in acting or Shakespeare is required to participate in the Public Speaking Workshop, and participants from all walks of life are welcome to apply. Each participant comes in with a message that is intended to move a certain audience to action. Throughout the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to improve their message using the lessons learned from Shakespeare’s great speeches.

Classes will take place on Friday from 6pm-10pm, Saturday from 10am-6pm, and Sunday from 10am-2pm. Tuition is $100 USD and the workshop is limited to 12 participants. Scholarships are available. For more information or to apply please click here.
