Behind the Curtain is a free lecture series led by Shakespearean scholar Ann Berman, examining various themes surrounding Shakespeare’s works and other titles presented at Shakespeare & Company. Berman, who holds a Master of Arts in Shakespeare Studies from King’s College, London, explores topics ranging from historical parallels in Shakespeare’s plays to the effect costumes, scenic design, lighting, and more can have on audience response to a performance. Directors, cast members, design-team members, and others often serve as guest speakers.
