Shakespeare & Company is excited to offer our Company’s premiere of the new documentary Speak What We Feel, a feature length film by Patrick J. Toole, and narrated by Shakespeare & Company’s Director of Education Kevin G. Coleman.

Speak What We Feel tells the story of the Fall Festival of Shakespeare, a personally inspiring and academically rigorous theatrical tradition where hundreds of high school students come together annually to meet Shakespeare’s plays on his terms, create a performance festival, and together embark on a wild and whirling adventure of ten plays in ten schools all opening on the same night. The Festival culminates in a four-day community event bringing all ten shows together under one roof at the Tina Packer Playhouse for what has been called by a Boston radio station, a “rock concert of Shakespeare.” Watch as a new generation of students encounter Shakespeare’s stories — and unfold their own in the process.

All ticket proceeds and donations in support of these special screenings benefit this year’s Fall Festival of Shakespeare, now in its 33rd year, and will be matched up to $10,000 by a generous family doubling your gift and deepening the impact on the lives of our next generation.

These special screenings are dedicated to the memory of beloved Shakespeare & Company supporter and dear friend, Elayne P. Bernstein, and her love and passion of our Education programs, on the 10-year anniversary of her passing. Her devotion to the youth within our community, and to the Fall Festival of Shakespeare, inspired the lives of thousands of students and continues to inspire us to this day.

Run time is approximately 85 minutes. Both screenings will be followed by a talkback with Director of Education Kevin G. Coleman, facilitated by Artistic Director Allyn Burrows.
