The Waverly Gallery

FINALIST! 2001 Pulitzer Prize for Drama

“An exquisite blend of humor and sorrow.”—Broadway News

Once a vibrant lawyer, Greenwich Village activist and family matriarch, Gladys Green has run a charming boutique art gallery on Waverly Place for decades, but now stands to lose its tenancy, as her world shrinks through loss of memory and hearing. Gladys's family struggles to cope with her fading faculties in this Pulitzer Prize finalist for Drama. As told from her grandson's perspective, this powerful story sheds a lasting and humorous light on how our familial roles get inevitably refashioned over time, and quietly challenges us to examine how we look after each other.

Generously sponsored by Jerry and Honie Berko.

Special Talk & Book Signing, Sunday, June 23
After the 3pm The Waverly Gallery matinee, Helene Berger will talk about her book, Choosing Joy, her personal journey in the face of her husband's diagnosis with Alzheimer's.
