Shakespeare & Company to hold Benefit Performance of It’s a Wonderful Life

(Lenox, MA) – Shakespeare & Company will present It’s a Wonderful Night! A Special Benefit Performance of the holiday production, It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play on Saturday, December 10th at 3pm in the Elayne P. Bernstein Theatre. Following the performance, there will be a festive after-party to welcome Artistic Director Allyn Burrows at Firefly Gastropub in Lenox, MA. Hors d’oeuvres and Open Bar will be from 5:30 to 7:30, and Cash Bar will be from 7:30 to closing, featuring live swing music by The Lucky 5.

It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play returns to Shakespeare & Company with live sound effects and rapid character changes. The story follows George Bailey as he discovers the value of this wonderful life, guided by “angel, second-class” Clarence, on his own quest to earn his wings. Adapted by Joe Landry from the original screenplay by Frances Goodrich, Albert Hackett, Frank Capra, Jo Swerling and directed by Jenna Ware, the play features Jonathan Croy, Jennie M. Jadow, David Joseph, Sarah Jeanette Taylor, and Ryan Winkles.

The production has been praised by critics calling it “utterly charming…a delight from beginning to end” (Berkshire Arts Almanac) and “…comfort food for the heart and soul.” (The Berkshire Eagle).

Tickets for this event are priced at $200 for Gold Tickets and a limited number of Silver Tickets will be sold for $150. All proceeds benefit Shakespeare & Company’s 40thAnniversary Season.
