The Company seeks an IT and Business Systems Manager to begin on or about September 19th, 2022. The IT and Business Systems Manager is responsible for the support of Shakespeare & Company’s employees and its customers’ interactions with the box office, concessions, and gift shop sales. This includes system assessment and improvements, maintenance and repair, and hands-on daily tasks at Shakespeare & Company. An ideal candidate is energetic, hands-on and motivated to manage the IT and related needs of our administrative staff and our artistic programs while embracing our commitment to anti-racism initiatives.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The IT and Business Systems Manager takes responsibility for Computer and Telecommunication Systems as well as Office Technologies including Network Appliances, Major Software Applications, File Servers, Wireless Links, Workstations & Peripherals, Printers & Print Servers, Communication Wiring, Telephone Sytems, Pagers & Cellular Phones, Postage/meter Machine, Photocopiers & Fax Machines, Retail POS Systems:

  • Keeps all data and communication systems functional 24/7 (including data network, email (Exchange) system, phone system(s), copiers and printers, retail POS) -- available whenever company staff, contract employees, students and /or volunteers need to utilize the equipment;
  • Assesses current situation and determine needs based on assessment;
  • Procures through purchase or lease;
  • Performs routine maintenance;
  • Performs repairs, and when necessary, liaises with vendors for repair;
  • Oversees the Company file and email servers, phone systems, Spam filter and Virus Protection system, ensuring functionality;
  • Schedules and coordinates training for current and future employees (i.e., Raiser’s Edge or Accounting for Nonprofits class sessions);
  • Orients and trains current and new employees on use and cyber security;
  • Demonstrates leadership in cyber and other system security efforts;
  • Liaises with network consultants and vendors such as Spectrum, Time Warner and AT&T;
  • Sets up and maintains all computer workstations including: OS installations and upgrades, replacements of RAM, disk drives, video card, fans, etc. as needed, connections of PCs, monitors, mice, keyboards, printers, scanners, etc;
  • Tests and trouble-shoots MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook typical), SRO (Box Office), Raisers Edge, Financial Edge, other software as incorporated into the Company;
  • Supports end-users on the use of all software and equipment;
  • Hires, trains, supervises intern and other assistant(s) when available;
  • Assists the Box office Manager in the development and implementation of end-user ticketing system reporting and use procedures;
  • Assists in extracting mailing lists (and other data) from various systems as requested;
  • Places orders for parts and supplies as needed;
  • Assists with administrative duties (box office sales, switchboard calls, etc.) as requested;

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND CHARACTERISTICS

  • Demonstrated experience in IT with a team-oriented and collaborative attitude, and sensitivity to others’ capabilities regarding IT;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, a positive attitude and energy, and an inspiring, forward-thinking, empathetic and collaborative working style, exhibiting an openness to many perspectives;
  • Solid working knowledge of non-profit business administration;
  • Working knowledge of machinery and equipment used in IT and business capacities and demonstrated ability for hands-on repair and upgrade of same;
  • Working knowledge of cyber security standards;
  • Good at creative problem solving and troubleshooting; a sense of humor is essential;
  • Completed a COVID-19 vaccine regimen and booster;
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.; able to climb stairs and ladders.

COMPENSATION

This full-time Exempt position will receive compensation of $48,000 annually. Benefits include paid time off, health insurance options including 75% contribution toward an individual's health insurance, 403(b) with TIAA-CREF including a Company match after two year's employment, medical FSA, and discounts on Company programs. Temporary local accommodation may be available as part of a relocation package.
