BEHIND THE CURTAIN
Topic: A Midsummer Night's Dream
Saturday, March 4 | 10:30am
Jane Iredale Lobby located at the Elayne P. Bernstein Theatre
Death threats, unrequited love, inter-species dating, lots of mischief — and it all works out in the end. One of Shakespeare’s most beloved plays, A Midsummer Night’s Dream features drama in the royal court, the worst-acted death scene ever, and a forest full of magic. Guests at this installment of Behind the Curtain will visit this enchanted world to learn how various plot lines and romances are woven together. In addition, Shakespeare & Company Costume Director Govane Lohbauer will explain how costume design has been integrated into multiple productions of the play, as well as the challenges of designing for an outdoor production.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream will be staged at Shakespeare & Company August 1 through September 10, outdoors at the New Spruce Theatre.
