Adam Banks (Puck, Snug, Egeus) This is Adam's first year with Shakespeare & Company. He appeared on the main stage in A Midsummer Night's Dream and also on The Rose Playhouse in Shakespeare and the Language that Shaped a World. He trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, the British American Drama Academy, and Atelier in Los Angeles. Adam has also been seen in Romeo and Juliet, Julius Caesar, True West, and Crimes of the Heart.
Samantha Cullen (Helena, Snout, a fairy) Samantha has grown up with Shakespeare & Company. She started doing shows when she was in the sixth grade. During high school she participated in the Fall Festival of Shakespeare and the Young Company programs. Samantha currently lives in New York City and recently graduated from The Neighborhood Playhouse, a 2-year theatre conservatory. Some of her previous shows include: The Tempest, Julius Caesar, Scapin, and in small roles at the Metropolitan Opera. Sam is delighted to be back with her Company and taking part in this magical show.
Paul D'Agostino (Oberon, Theseus) is thrilled to be on tour with this wonderful cast. An alumnus of the Month Long Intensive at Shakespeare & Company, Paul also holds a Master of Music in Musical Theater from The Boston Conservatory and a B.A. in Theater from Gordon College. Previous experience includes: Don Pedro in Much Ado About Nothing, Launce in Two Gentlemen of Verona, Archibald in The Secret Garden, and Cry Innocent with History Alive. He teaches at North Shore Music Theatre's Academy of Musical Theatre.
Alyssa Hughlett (Hermia, Starveling, a fairy) is thrilled to take part in the New England Tour of A Midsummer Night's Dream. Before coming to Shakespeare & Company as an education artist, she received her B.F.A in Acting with a minor in Dance from Texas State University. Most recently she co-directed The Tragedy of Richard III in the 19th annual Fall Festival. Almost equal to her love for theatre, Alyssa has also collaborated and danced both on and off the ground throughout Austin, Texas for the last five years. Her most memorable projects and roles have been "Insomnia", a duet in A Night of Modern Dance, and Myrrha, Iris, Hunger and Midas' Daughter in Mary Zimmerman's adapatation of Ovid's Metamorphoses.
Dan Kurtz (Demetrius, Bottom) is thrilled to be on tour for his first time with Shakespeare & Company. Dan received his B.F.A. in Acting from Syracuse University and has traveled around the world studying classical voice. Dan recently appeared as Autolycus (The Winter's Tale), Wilbur (Charlotte's Web) and Vince (Tape) and is currently writing a workbook to aid the teaching of the Meisner Technique.
Steve Unwin (Lysander, Flute) is thrilled to be a part of the New England Tour. While at the University of Utah he played Azdak (Caucasian Chalk Circle), Simple (The Merry Wives of Windsor), Mercutio (Romeo and Juliet), Lindner (Raisin in the Sun), and Castruccio (The Dutchess of Malfi). He also specialized in Eastern movement styles of stage combat. At Shakespeare & Company he trained in the Summer Performance Institute in '06, and the Summer Training Institute in '05. He was nominated for the Irene Ryan Award for Acting, and received the Meritorious Achievement Award for his fight choreography. He attended the University of Utah and the Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan.
Josie Wilson (Titania, Quince, Hippolyta) is delighted to be embarking on her second tour of New England with Shakespeare & Company. Josie is a graduate of the University of Utah where she received her B.F.A. in Acting. Josie recently directed her second Fall Festival with a production of Romeo and Juliet at Taconic High School. Favorite roles include: Lady Macbeth in last year's tour of the Scottish Play, Emilia in Desdemona: A Play About a Handkerchief, and Rose in The Woolgatherer.
Jonathan Croy (Director) now in his twenty-second season with the Company, played Turai in last year's critically acclaimed production of Rough Crossing and directed the Bankside Festival hit, Scapin, on the Rose Footprint Theatre. With over 40 roles at S&Co. His credits include, The Merry Wives of Windsor, The Taming of the Shrew, King John, Much Ado About Nothing, Henry V, The Tempest, Complete Works (abridged), Twelfth Night, Richard III, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Merchant of Venice, Comedy of Errors, Custom of the Country, Twelfth Night, Macbeth, and Much Ado About Nothing. Jon has directed many New England Tours of Shakespeare, Shakespeare in the Courts programs, Summer Institute productions, Shakespeare & Young Company performances, and more than 30 other in-school Residencies. Regional acting credits: NY Shakespeare Festival, Missouri Rep, NC Shakespeare Festival, and Virginia Shakespeare Festival.
