For TeachersNational Institute on Teaching ShakespeareJuly 5 &mdash August 1, 2009 This four-week Institute brings classroom teachers from across the nation together with Shakespeare & Company master teachers, international scholars, professional directors, and actors. Teachers immerse themselves in the exploration of Shakespeare's plays, in the context of their original performance conditions, and are introduced to Shakespeare & Company's techniques for unleashing the power, the playfulness, and the passion of Shakespeare's language, bringing it alive in the classroom.Credit for The National Institute on Teaching Shakespeare is available through Lesley University. Lesley is a diverse, coeducational university based in Cambridge, MA, with learning sites in 21 states and in Israel. Recognized as one of the "best" in the annual U.S. News & World Report rankings, included in the Princeton Review's "Best Northeastern Regional Colleges" listings. This program began in 1988 and is funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities.
