Our 30 acre woodland home is free and open to the public year-round for hiking, exploring, strolling the handicap-accessible trails, playing, meditating, and picnicking on benches, in hidden fairy glens, or by the lake. You needn’t purchase a show ticket to enter the property, park, and enjoy nature. Just come in!
And there are free daily outdoor programs for all ages at our Bankside Festival. See the calendar for details, but you can be outdoors here and enjoy scores of performances, lectures, and demonstrations – ALL FOR FREE – during July and August. View our performance calendar for full details on Bankside events.
- A community reading of the Declaration of Independence on July 4
- Spontaneous and always surprising Prelude performances including Elizabethan dances, songs, swordplay and clowning at 6:45pm on select Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights throughout July and August.
- Renaissance Garden, located across from Founders’ Theatre. A traditional Elizabethan garden composed of flowers and plants taken from Shakespeare’s imagery in his plays. Created by Shakespeare & Volunteer Company in cooperation with students from the Berkshire Union Free School District in Canaan, NY.
You are welcome to bike and run on the property, and bring your pet (as long as it’s leashed).
And we’re within walking and biking distance to historic Lenox (with over 50 shops, galleries, restaurants, and inns), Tanglewood, Canyon Ranch Spa, Cranwell Resort, Kennedy Park, golfing, tennis, hiking, skiing, swimming, fishing … if it’s outdoors, it’s probably nearby.
Our home is your home.
