Tina Packer Honored With Honorary Degree

On May 17th, Tina Packer was the recipient of an honorary degree at Westfield State College’s 169th Commencement activities. She was honored along with Berkshire County artist and designer Thomas Patti, Pulitzer Prize-winning author and historian Debby Applegate and Mike Scully, producer and writer for The Simpsons. Packer, who will receive a Doctor of Humanities degree, is a British-born actress, director, and author.  She founded Shakespeare & Company in 1978.  With Packer as artistic director, the company is central to cultural life in the region, with a reputation for quality that extends far beyond the Berkshires.”
