Please prepare a monologue from Love’s Labour’s Lost, Richard II, or any Shakespeare play & have a contrasting, contemporary monologue of your choice prepared if requested. Please bring a picture and resume, stapled together.
All roles will be understudied. Callbacks will be announced and scheduled at auditions.
All dates are in 2013. All roles that are not listed have been cast without auditions; * for pre-cast roles, auditioning performers will be considered as possible replacements, should any become necessary.

Available roles (see * above): All actors — extensive voice and physical practice as well as familiarity with Shakespeare & Company text methods preferred. All roles are acceptable for non-traditional casting unless otherwise specified; we seek and encourage participation by performers of all races and ethnicities.
LOVE’S LABOUR’S LOST (cast / performed in rep with Mother Courage and Her Children):
King of Navarre - gives his word to study in austerity for 3 years but breaks his oath. (Age: 30-40).
Princess of France– intelligent young woman about to inherit the realm. (Age: 25-35)
Rosaline/Forester/Marcade – multiple role: Rosaline – A lady attending the Princess who loves Berowne/The Forester – hunts with the princess/Marcade – father to the princess. (Age: 30-45).
Don Armado – “A fantastical Spaniard.” Loves Jaquenetta. (Age: 35-55).
Holofernes – A schoolmistress. Extremely good with comic timing. Holofernes is responsible for the masque of the Nine Worthies near the end of the play. (Age: 30-55).
Sir Nathaniel – A schoolmaster, a lover of language, a Classicist. Loves Holofernes. (Age: 30-55).
Dull – A clown/constable, keeping order in the realm. (Age: 30-55).
Costard – “A clown.” A lover of Jaquenetta’s. (Age: 30-55).
Boyet – A lord attending on the Princess, a messenger to the King’s court; he protects the ladies.
MOTHER COURAGE AND HER CHILDREN (cast /performed in rep with Love’s Labour’s Lost):
Kattrin - Courage’s mute daughter. (age: 35-45)
Eilif – Mother’s elder son, eager to become a soldier. (age: 35-45)
Swiss Cheese – Mother’s younger son, honest & dutiful, not particularly bright. (age: 25-35)
Yvette Pottier – Initially a camp prostitute, returning years later obese and grotesque. (age: 30-55)
An ensemble that will include:
A Mature Man: 50-65, will most likely play The Swedish General, The Old Colonel, the Older Soldier, and as cast. Will sing.
Two Men: 35-50, will most likely split the Recruiting Officer, the Sergeants, the Man with the Eyepatch, the Wounded Peasant, the Lieutenant and the Munitions Officer. Will sing.
A Young Man: 20-30, will most likely play The Young Soldier, The Young Man and a Peasant. Will sing.
Two Women: 25-40, will most likely split The Peasant Woman, The Old Woman, The Clerk and two of the Peasants. Will sing.

The Duke of York – A strong & direct traditionalist, loyally devoted to the crown. (age: 45-60)
John of Gaunt, The Gardener, and Surrey - multiple roles (age: 65-75)
Queen Isabel, The Keeper, and Harry Percy - multiple roles (age:25-35)
