Director Nicole Ricciardi talks about August Stridberg’s Creditors: “When I first saw David Greig's adaptation of Creditors, I was surprised. I understood Tekla. I recognized myself in her. Even more surprising, I recognized myself in both of the men as well. I was on everyone and no one's side. The play tossed my around. There were no winners and no losers. Everyone knew and felt the cost of love. All of them paid a price. Alan Rickman, who first directed David Greig's adaptation, once described the play as ‘Three characters dragged through a hedge backwards in 90 minutes.’ Everything is on the table. Everything is on display, turned over, knocked about. Nothing is left unsaid. Having previously directed in the Bernstein Theatre, I am excited to unleash this play in that intimate space with these powerhouse actors.” July 19 - August 12.
